Questions from treasurer practice

Does Questee collect the donations itself?
No — by design. The form captures the SEPA mandate data in a structured way; your club runs the direct debit via its own bank account as usual. You stay in control of the donor relationship, pay no commission and change nothing in your bookkeeping.
Is collecting IBANs online even safe?
Safer than paper: transfer is encrypted via HTTPS, data sits tenant-isolated on servers in Germany, and you get the Art. 28 GDPR DPA. A handwritten form lying around the clubhouse or arriving by unencrypted email is the far bigger risk.
Is online consent enough for the SEPA mandate?
In the SEPA core direct-debit scheme the formal mandate requirements are a matter for your bank — many now accept electronically granted mandates, others want a signature. Check briefly with your club's bank; either way the form cleanly documents who consented to which debit and when.
Why not a donation portal with built-in payment processing?
Donation platforms often take commissions, and donor data sits with the platform, not with you. For regular giving by direct debit you do not need a platform — your club account can run SEPA debits. The form supplies the one missing piece: structured, complete data capture.
Can donors choose between supporting membership and a free-form regular donation?
