May we capture SEPA and member data online — GDPR?
Yes, if the processing is set up properly — and that is exactly what Questee provides: hosting exclusively in Germany, encrypted transfer, tenant-isolated storage and the Art. 28 GDPR DPA for your association. Important: include clear SEPA mandate consent and a privacy notice in the form — both work as required checkboxes.
Why not Google Forms — that is free too?
Many schools prohibit Google Forms because personal data ends up with a US provider — and a support association collecting families' bank details that way exposes itself. Questee is just as free to start, but hosts in Germany and gives you the DPA the school leadership wants to see.
Is online sign-up legally valid — without a signature?
Joining an association is form-free unless your statutes say otherwise — an online declaration is usually sufficient. For the SEPA direct debit mandate, many banks accept electronic issuance; clarify briefly with your bank. If a signature remains necessary, you still capture all data error-free online and collect the signature once — the paper-return bottleneck is solved either way.
Does this really grow membership?
The biggest barrier to joining is not willingness but friction: lost slips, no printer, tedious scanning. A link that works in two minutes on a phone removes exactly that barrier. Timing helps too: whoever opens the link via QR code right at the parents' evening joins while the motivation is there.
Can we collect sign-ups right at the parents' evening?

What does this cost a small association?
