For websites that should convert

Build online calculators — without coding, without plugin roulette

Price, subsidy or needs calculators with real formulas, conditional logic and lead capture. Built in an hour, embedded on your website — no WordPress plugin that breaks on the next update.

~1 Std from empty editor to embedded calculator — instead of weeks of custom development

Why the calculator never went live

Plugin roulette on every update

WordPress calculator plugins like Calculated Fields Form work — until the next core or theme update. Then the calculator breaks, looks off-brand or throws PHP errors. And you only notice when a customer complains.

Custom development: four figures

An agency builds the calculator properly — for 3,000 to 8,000 euros. Every price change, every new variant costs agency hours again. Hard to justify for a single conversion element.

The calculator lives in sales Excel sheets

So it stays an Excel sheet that sales calculates over the phone. Prospects have to call first to learn a price — and half never call. Your strongest conversion element exists only internally.

How Questee fixes this

  1. 1

    Define questions and formulas

Create input fields (area, quantity, choice options with values) and let formulas calculate on them — arithmetic, if-then conditions, tiered pricing. Your Excel sheet usually translates one to one into the calculation engine.

  2. 2

    Result page with lead capture

The result appears live during input or on a results page — optionally only after entering an e-mail address. Every calculator user becomes a qualified lead with all inputs in the record.

  3. 3

    Embed and forget

Embed on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or any other website — the calculator runs on Questee infrastructure, independent of your CMS updates. Prices change? Adjust in the editor, live instantly, no deployment.

The calculation engine in detail

Real formulas

Calculate with all answers: arithmetic, conditions, rounding, tiered values — live during input.

Conditional logic

Show and hide questions and result variants per answer — one calculator, many paths.

Lead gate before the result

Result optionally only after contact details — anonymous visitors become qualified leads.

Design matching your brand

Colours, font, logo via theme — the calculator looks like your website, not like a foreign object.

Analytics on all inputs

See what users calculate: most common inputs, drop-off points, lead rate — as dashboard and CSV.

GDPR instead of US SaaS

Unlike Outgrow or Calconic: hosted in Germany, DPA included, no US data transfer.

A fraction of agency or US SaaS cost

Free for building and testing (3 forms). Pro for production with own branding and 10,000 responses/month — €9/month annually. Outgrow starts at $22/month, an agency at €3,000.

Answers from practice

What kinds of calculators can I build?
Anything composed of inputs and formulas: price calculators (e.g. moving, cleaning, web design packages), needs calculators (paint, insulation, staffing), subsidy and savings calculators (solar, heating replacement), ROI calculators for SaaS, quiz calculators with scoring logic. If your Excel sheet can do it, the calculation engine usually can too.
How complex can the formulas be?
The engine handles arithmetic, brackets, if-then conditions, min/max bounds and rounding — and can use any answer field as a variable, including choice options with assigned values. Multi-stage calculations build up via intermediate results. For most price and needs calculators that is more than enough.
Does the embedded calculator break when I update WordPress?
No — that is the core difference to a plugin. The calculator runs on Questee servers and is only embedded via iframe. WordPress core updates, theme changes or PHP version jumps do not touch it. Your CMS only displays the frame.
Does the user have to enter an e-mail to see the result?
You decide. Option A: result visible immediately — maximum transparency, good for trust building. Option B: result only after contact details — maximum lead rate. Option C: instant result, detailed PDF or consultation in exchange for the e-mail. You can run variants against each other via A/B testing.
How does Questee differ from Outgrow or Calconic?
Three points: price (Pro at €9/month annually covers calculators AND all other forms — Outgrow starts at $22/month for calculators alone), data protection (hosted in Germany with a DPA instead of US cloud with transfer questions) and breadth (the same account also builds surveys, registrations and lead forms).
Will the calculator visually match my website?
Yes — you set colours, fonts and logo in the theme editor, including dark mode. The embedded calculator adopts your branding and feels like a native part of the page. On the Pro plan the Questee branding disappears as well.
Where do the calculator leads end up?
In your Questee dashboard with all inputs and the calculated result per lead. Additionally: e-mail notification for every new lead, CSV export for your CRM and webhooks for automatic processing (e.g. to Zapier, Make or your own system).
Is lead capture GDPR-compliant?
The infrastructure, yes: hosted in Germany, encryption, DPA per Art. 28 GDPR, configurable deletion periods. For the lawfulness of your collection you add a privacy notice in the form and — depending on purpose — a consent checkbox; both are built-in question types.
