Questions from rental practice

Does the form replace a booking platform with a calendar?
No — by design. Questee collects the structured enquiry; you check and confirm availability yourself. With one or two vehicles a live booking calendar is often overkill and breeds double-booking stress. Personal confirmation also lets you size up the renter first — your motorhome is worth a lot of money, after all.
How does the deposit work in practice?
You create a second "binding reservation" form with Stripe payment and send the link after your confirmation. The renter pays the deposit by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — you see the payment instantly and only then block the dates. Stripe fees apply per transaction; Questee takes no commission.
What should the form definitely ask?
The classics: dates, pickup/return preference, traveller count, licence class and years held (many insurers require minimum age and driving experience), pets, smoking, desired extras and the rough destination (abroad? winter camping?). With that you can assess almost any enquiry without a callback.
Why not just stay on the big rental platform?
Platforms bring reach but take a noticeable commission and own the customer relationship. Many hosts run both tracks: platform for new customers, their own form for returning guests, referrals and their own website or Instagram account. Every direct booking saves the full commission — at motorhome prices, quickly a three-digit sum per week.
Is my renters' data safe?
Yes — hosted exclusively in Germany, encrypted transfer, tenant-isolated database. Licence photos in particular are sensitive and do not belong in WhatsApp chats or email attachments. We supply the Art. 28 GDPR processing agreement; you can delete completed enquiries.
Can the rental price be calculated automatically?
Yes — with the calculation feature: nights × daily rate plus selected extras, with seasonal surcharge if you like. Prospects see a transparent estimated total while you reserve final confirmation. That filters bargain hunters before they cost you time.
How is this different from a PDF rental application?
A PDF has to be downloaded, filled in, saved and emailed back — on a phone that often fails at the filling-in stage. The Questee form runs in the browser, guides through the questions, validates required fields and accepts payments. You get structured data instead of an attachment to retype.
